Star of Days of Our Lives John Aniston has passed away. He was 89.

The experienced actor, who also happened to be Jennifer Aniston’s dad, became famous for playing Days’ Victor Kiriakis in 1985. Her father passed away on November 11, the Friends alum revealed on Monday.

She posted several images of the pair with the phrase “Sweet papa… John Anthony Aniston.” “You were one of the most stunning people I’ve ever known. I am eternally appreciative that you went into the heavens painlessly and in peace. and no less on 11/11! The timing was always right with you. I’ll love you until the end of time which that number will always mean even more to me “⁣

Days of Our Lives created a touching memorial video to him that was posted in response to his loss.

Our hearts are devastated by the passing of our beloved family member John Aniston, the television show said in a statement on Twitter and Instagram. “John, we love you. Your legacy will remain.”

Co-creator of the series Ken Corday also provided PEOPLE with a statement.

“John Aniston, a beloved and renowned cast member and close friend passed away, the statement said. “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of one of our own – our beloved and legendary cast member and dear friend, John Aniston.

“It is incomprehensible to think he won’t be stepping foot on our set again, but it is comforting to all of us to know that he is at rest and no longer in suffering,” the statement said.

John’s final Days episode will run on December 26, Peacock told PEOPLE.

A Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award was recently given to John in recognition of his longtime performance on the soap opera. Jennifer virtually appeared on the awards stage to honor her father’s remarkable career, even though John was unable to make it to the June ceremony.

John discussed Jennifer’s acting talents early in her career, long before she became famous, thanks to Friends. In 1990, John stated to E! John once shared his most proud professional accomplishment in public.

John also leaves behind his son Alex Aniston in addition to Jennifer. Nancy Dow, Jennifer’s mother, and John’s first wife, passed away in 2016.
